Traditional political techniques do not work indefinitely on social media, because social media is hardwired to learn. That’s what people do. What happens when traditional political techniques are used on social media, is you get a speeded up internet movie of them. Reality bites quicker and people learn and culture evolves as a result. But because they don’t and people have based livings on the status quo, it gets pissy for a bit. tt’s why the tribalism was always going to be seen as obnoxious eventually and mainstream political techniques are losing traction. Like people losing faith with it in the early eighties, but dead quick. The level of understanding the internet and the economy are giving us is speeding it all up. Interesting year ahead.
I’d stand well back from traditional political media, I sense implosions ahead.
There is no shame in the term ‘social media casualty’.
